**Notion AI pricing** is no longer an add-on decision. The standalone AI add-on ($8/member/mo annual, $10 monthly) was pulled from new sign-ups in May 2025, and the full suite — Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search, research mode — now ships **bundled with Business at $20/member/mo billed annually ($24 monthly)**. Free and Plus only get a **limited trial**. Legacy add-on subscribers are grandfathered. On top of that, Custom Agents bill **$10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits** on Business or Enterprise. For new buyers the floor for real AI is one Business seat.

Notion AI pricing at a glance (October 2026)

Pricing as of October 2026 (read from Notion’s own pricing and AI pricing pages on October 4, 2026):

Plan Annual billing Monthly billing Notion AI access
Free $0 $0 Limited trial of AI
Plus $10/member/mo $12/member/mo Limited trial of AI
Business $20/member/mo $24/member/mo Full AI included (Recommended)
Enterprise Custom Custom Full AI + zero data retention with LLM providers
Custom Agents credits $10 per 1,000 monthly credits ($13 per 1,000 on an annual pool) — Metered add-on, Business/Enterprise only

Annual billing saves roughly 17–20% but is prepaid as one lump sum. Guests are free on every plan and never get AI. Notion’s yearly toggle also markets itself as “save up to 20% with yearly.”

What full Notion AI actually includes

The Business bundle is four products, not one chat box:

  • Notion Agent — chat, generate, autofill and translate inside any page or database
  • AI Meeting Notes — automatic transcription and summaries of your meetings, no bot invite required
  • Enterprise Search (Beta) — answers across Notion plus connected apps (Slack, GitHub, Teams, Jira, Drive and more)
  • Research mode (Beta) — deep-reasoning reports over your workspace and the live web
  • Notion Mail AI and AI connectors — AI across mail and third-party app content

Free and Plus see all of the above marked “Limited Trial” in the comparison table: a shared pool of complimentary AI responses for the whole workspace. Notion publishes how the pool works but not its exact size; once it is used up, the workspace needs a paid AI route to continue.

The add-on question: what happened to $10/month Notion AI

Until May 13, 2025, Notion AI was a flat surcharge on any plan — $8/member/mo billed annually, $10 billed monthly — that even Free workspaces could attach. Notion retired that option for new customers and folded the full AI suite into Business instead:

  • New customers cannot buy the add-on at any price. The only path to full AI is Business or Enterprise.
  • Legacy add-on subscribers are grandfathered at $8–10/member/mo as long as they never cancel; reports from late 2025 also describe some add-on accounts being moved onto Business at the same price they already paid.
  • Many comparison pages still quote the old $10 add-on as current. If a source stacks “Plus + $10 AI,” it is describing a product new buyers cannot purchase.

The practical result: the “Notion AI price” for anyone shopping today is a Business seat — $20/member/month on annual billing.

The real bill: seats, credits and annual math

Team shape (annual billing) Monthly Year one
Free, solo, AI trial only $0 $0
Plus, 1 seat, no working AI $10 $120
Business, 1 seat (full AI) $20 $240
Business, 5 seats $100 $1,200
Business, 10 seats $200 $2,400
Business, 10 seats + 5,000 credits/mo $250 $3,000
Same 5-seat team on monthly billing $120 $1,440

Two line items surprise people. First, credits are Business/Enterprise only — a Free or Plus workspace cannot buy its way to Custom Agents; the eligible plan is part of the cost. Second, seat changes are prorated immediately: add three members halfway through a monthly Business cycle and that invoice jumps by roughly three seats × $24 × the remaining half-month.

The catch: what the sticker price leaves out

  1. The trial is a pool, not a plan. Complimentary AI responses are shared workspace-wide and expire in practice; there is no “unlimited AI” below Business.
  2. Annual is prepaid. The $20 rate requires a year paid upfront; monthly billing is $24 — a $4/seat difference that becomes real at ten seats ($480/yr).
  3. Credits meter fast and reset monthly. Custom Agents burn $10 per 1,000 credits with no rollover, and Workers Beta (custom code that runs in Notion) is free during beta but will require credits later — Notion has published no date.
  4. Credits need the $20 plan first. The effective floor for an AI-running team is Business seats plus whatever credits they burn, not $20 flat.
  5. Refund windows are short. Full refunds run 3 days for monthly and 30 days for annual subscriptions; after that, cancellation only takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.
  6. Mid-cycle churn matters. Deleting members opens seats but no credit; adding members bills prorated the same day.

Is the Notion AI “add-on” worth it?

You are already on Business: yes, immediately — AI adds nothing to your invoice. Use it like it is included, because it is.

You are a solo or Plus user who wants AI: the old Plus ($10) + add-on ($10) stack landed at exactly $20/seat — the price Business costs today. Business at $20 is the strictly better buy: same money, plus SSO, private teamspaces, 90-day history and granular database permissions.

A five-person team on Plus deciding about AI: Plus is $50/mo with a token AI trial; Business is $100/mo with full AI. The upgrade costs $10/seat/mo — cheap if the team actually runs meeting notes and workspace search, wasted if nobody opens Notion twice a week.

Automation-heavy teams: budget credits separately. Ten members plus a 5,000-credit monthly pool is $250/mo, not $200 — test one real Custom Agent workflow before committing to a credit budget.

Frequently asked questions

Is Notion AI still an add-on? Not for new customers. The standalone add-on was retired on May 13, 2025; legacy subscribers keep $8–10/member/mo pricing, and everyone else gets AI through the Business plan.

How much is Notion AI per user? $20/member/month billed annually, $24/month billed monthly — as part of Business, not as a separate line item.

Can I use Notion AI for free? A limited trial runs on Free and Plus from a shared response pool. Sustained use requires Business or Enterprise.

What do Custom Agents cost? Free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits (or $13 per 1,000 on an annual pool), purchasable only on Business and Enterprise. The in-editor Notion Agent does not burn credits.

The bottom line

Notion AI pricing in 2026 collapsed into a single decision: pay $20/seat annually ($24 monthly) for Business and take the whole AI suite, or stay on Free/Plus and live with a limited trial. The era of bolting a $10 add-on onto a cheap plan is over for new buyers, and Custom Agents add a metered $10 per 1,000 credits on top. If your team already pays for Business, the AI is effectively free — that is the worth-it verdict. Everyone else should price the $20 seat against how many meetings and searches the team actually runs. All figures were read from Notion's own pages on October 4, 2026.
