All Cursor plans (October 2026)
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby | Free | Limited Agent requests, limited Tab completions, Composer access. No card required. |
| Pro | $20/mo | Extended Agent limits, frontier models, MCPs/skills/hooks, cloud agents, Grok access; Bugbot usage-based |
| Pro+ | $60/mo | Everything in Pro with 3x Pro limits on Agent and models — the “daily agent user” tier |
| Ultra | $200/mo | 20x Pro limits, highest usage pools, priority access to new features |
| Teams Standard | $40/user/mo | Everything in Pro + shared team context, team rules/skills, security review agent, SAML |
| Teams Premium | $120/user/mo | Higher pooled usage for teams with heavy agent use |
| Enterprise | Custom | Pooled usage, SCIM, audit logs, invoice/PO billing, admin controls |
Yearly billing saves 20% on every paid plan (Pro works out to $16/mo, Pro+ $48, Ultra $160). Individual plans switch to yearly from the billing dashboard’s green banner.
The catch: usage-based overage
Every plan includes a usage pool for models. When you exhaust it, on-demand usage bills in arrears at the list price of whichever model your request routes to (e.g., an Opus-class request bills at Opus pricing, plus Cursor’s token rate for third-party models). Cursor Router modes (Cost / Balance / Intelligence) let you trade speed for price per request.
In practice: a Pro user who runs agents all day can see a $20 subscription become $40–80/mo. Pro+ ($60, 3x limits) often costs less than Pro-plus-overage — which is exactly why the tier exists.
Which plan is actually right for you?
Hobby (free) — evaluating Cursor or light use. Limited Tab and Agent make it unusable as a daily driver, but it is a real trial, not a demo.
Pro ($20/mo) — the default. Enough for a working developer who uses AI for inline edits, chat, and moderate agent runs. If your invoice stays at $20, stay here.
Pro+ ($60/mo) — take it when one of these is true: you regularly exhaust Pro’s agent limits, you keep Cursor’s agent running on long tasks, or your overage bills have averaged $20+/mo. Math: Pro+ = Pro’s ceiling lifted for the price of two Pro subs.
Ultra ($200/mo) — agent power users: parallel cloud agents, heavy multi-repo work, or teams of one that treat the agent as a junior developer. Also buys priority access to new features.
Teams ($40/user/mo) — when you need shared rules, team-wide context, usage analytics, and SAML. Premium ($120) is for orgs whose per-seat usage would otherwise generate overage noise; contact sales for pooled billing.
Enterprise — if legal asks for SCIM, audit logs, or invoice payment, this is the only door.
Money-saving moves
- Annual billing — 20% off is automatic and reversible only at cycle end.
- Match plan to overage history — track one month of Pro overage before buying Pro+.
- Cost mode — route everyday requests to cheaper models; save frontier models for hard tasks (plans include Cost/Balance/Intelligence routing modes).
- Hobby first — new users should run the free tier for a week; its limits reveal your true usage shape.
- Students/India pricing — Cursor lists a Start plan (₹649/mo) for India; regional options exist.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cursor have a free trial of Pro? The Hobby plan is the trial; paid plans are self-serve card payments, cancel or downgrade any time (downgrades take effect at cycle end).
Is Ultra 10x better than Pro? Ultra is 20x Pro’s usage, not 20x better output. You are buying headroom, not capability — most people who ask do not need it.
What is Bugbot? Cursor’s AI code-review agent, available on all plans on usage-based billing.

The bottom line
Cursor’s pricing ladder is usage-shaped, not feature-shaped: the models and editor are essentially the same from Pro up — you are buying limits. Start at $20, log your usage for 30 days, and upgrade only when the math says Pro+ is cheaper than Pro-plus-overage. All figures verified on Cursor’s official pricing and help pages, October 2026.
